I was born in Elk City, Ok and have called this small city in western Oklahoma home for the majority of my life. After graduating high school, I went to work in the oilfield and worked as a roustabout and also as a floor hand on a service rig. In 1995 is ventured off to college and spent a year and a half studying general academics. After leaving college, working odd and end jobs, I earned my CDL in 1997 and began driving a semi-truck for a local hotshot company, then gained employment with a construction company, and also found work as a diesel mechanic before entering the workforce at an oilfield service company in Feb 2000, where I spent 12 years. From early on I had a desire to explore and see the world. Since my younger days I have been a lot of places and experienced many different cultures; having worked and/or traveled in 32 states within the US and have visited London, Amsterdam, and the western Caribbean. I have also worked abroad, spending time in Saudi Arabia from 2010 – 2011. In 2011 I made the move to start work as an independent contractor, providing operational oversight for O&G companies across the US. I have to say I have truly enjoyed the experience. In 2015 I returned to the classroom and focused my attention on English and journalism, scoring 100+ in both areas of study. In 2017 I made a return to the energy sector and have spent the last 7 years managing day to day field operations for major E&P companies.
